Acton Voters Group Budget Proposal Accepted by Schools

In this video, school officials now agree that budget increases can be held to 4% without layoffs. This is after arguing before and at the Special Town Meeting (October 2) that this level of budget growth would lead to layoffs of 25 or more teaching staff. The Acton Voters Group presented a proposal for the Special Town Meeting that showed budgets growing in the 4% range and asserted that layoffs would not be necessary. Town officials now seem to agree with this assessment.
