ABOUT THE ACTON VOTERS GROUP
IS THIS A PARTISAN EFFORT?
No, local town government is non-partisan and so is the Acton Voters Group. Our group is made up of Independents, Republicans, and Democrats.
WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF THE ACTON VOTERS GROUP?
more transparency in government;
better accountability
a more vigilant attitude toward spending taxpayer funds.
We want our town leaders to consider the long-term impact of their decisions on affordability for all taxpayers and residents. For example, many spending decisions do not consider the long-term liabilities and expenses they create for future taxpayers.
We want our leaders to keep Acton a diverse community. This diversity will only continue if we actively consider the desires of those who might be more sensitive to property tax increases.
